Why We Like Argan

Argan (NYSE: AGX) has been beaten up recently due to lowering guidance on a weakened backlog – with that said, we believe the drop is a gross overreaction, which has left the stock trading at an incredible value.

Buy Kinder Morgan

Kinder Morgan (NYSE: KMI) is the ultimate tollroad – wholly or jointly owning and operating over 62,000 miles of natural gas pipeline, reaching from all major natural gas drilling areas to every major demand center in the country. Sell Chipotle

Purchase Date: July 18th, 2017

Sell Date: Aug 22nd, 2018

Purchase Price:  $374.98

Sell Price:  $514.31

Gain:  37.2%

Current Price:[stock_ticker symbols="CMG" show="name" static="1" nolink="" speed="10" class=""]

Why We Sold Chipotle

Chipotle (NYSE: CMG) is an excellent company, and we’re excited for new CEO Brian Nicoll. With that said, we worry that Chipotle’s excitement has been priced in without an uptick in results. Furthermore, with China’s internet stocks being hammered in 2018, we believe there is more upside in that space.

Since we sold Chipotle, their stock price has been trending down. If Chipotle returned to a $10 billion valuation, we would entertain  opening our position again.

Why We Like Chipotle

Chipotle (NYSE: CMG) has a market cap of only $10.64 billion – and the growth is nowhere near over, they have roughly 2.3k stores and plan to open an additional 200 in 2016. On top of adding stores, they’re investing heavily in digital sales and catering.

Amazon Bets $13.7 Billion on Whole Foods

Amazon made a $13.7 billion bid to acquire Whole Foods, which amounts to $42 per share. The synergies between the two companies are endless – aside from gaining an immediate retail presence, they can also sell Whole Food’s 365 generic brand on their online platform.

This deal is pending shareholder approval, and with activist investor Jana Partners at the helm, we believe a deal will be made, and likely at a higher price than Amazon’s opening offer.

Buy CVS

Purchase Date: March 29th, 2017

Purchase Price:  $78.78

Current Price:[stock_ticker symbols="CVS" show="name" static="1" nolink="" speed="10" class=""]

Why We Like CVS

Everybody knows that retail is getting hammered – eCommerce is eating the lunch of several businesses, and rumors of Amazon starting a pharmacy has sent this stock down from a high of $112 per share in 2015.

We don’t believe drugstores such as CVS (NYSE: CVS) & Walgreens (NSAD: WBA) are going to be disrupted by eCommerce, there are regulations at play, and CVS is doing a great job of diversifying their business by offering walk-in clinics.

Get Money Back Automatically With Earny

While we build out this site, we highly encourage signing up with Earny to get some of your money back.

The app connects with your email and Amazon accounts in order to track your online purchases and find your e-receipts, then price check those items to see if you got the best deal. If it finds a lower price, Earny will request a refund on your behalf and the difference (minus the company’s 25 percent cut), will be credited back to your payment card.

Check it out, and let us know what you think!
